New Moon is the second book written by Stephenie Meyer and will be in the theatre in November 20,2009.
When Isabella Swan moved in with her father Charlie Swan, the chief of police in Forks, Washington, she had already discovered one of the many secrets the town had. Never in her wildest dreams did she ever think about the existing of vampires.
But she was about to learn another little secret. Billy Black, her fathers close friend and Jacob his son met with Charlie and Bella on her first day of school with a present Charlie had bought from Billy.
Since her birthday was coming up Charlie bought a truck that Jacob had fixed up for Bella. Surprised of seeing Jacob she was excited about having a friend to attend her first day of school with, but Jacob quickly told her that he didn’t attend the same school and he went to the school on the reservation called La Push.
One of the Cullen’s family members Alice decided that she would throw Bella a huge birthday party. Bella was not so excited because she, being shy really didn’t wish for something so big.
Alice Cullen would not take no for an answer. When giving Bella their presents before the big day, Bella received a paper cut and Jasper Hale, Alice’s husband and a new vampire could not resist the smell of Bella’s blood.
Stopped by Edward, Edward realized that Bella would always be in danger and decided that if he wanted the best for her, he needed to leave.
Bella with a broken heart turned to her good friend Jacob for comfort and distraction. Bella and Jacob became very close. At the same time, Alice having the ability to see the future could not see Bella while being around Jacob.
After the encounter of the Nomads and James being killed by the adopted brother and sister, Emmett and Rosalie, the Cullen’s had moved away but Alice still kept Bella in mind.
But then one day while laying in the meadow where Edward and she had visited many times, Laurent one of the three Nomads that had discovered her showed up and was about to make her a meal when out of nowhere a wolf shows up to challenge him.
Bella only then recognized that what Jacob had told her about the Cullen’s and La Push was really true and her good friend was really a shape shifter and he was the wolf. So many strange things happening to her that she felt lost was missing Edward so much, so many little secrets this small town had.
Having the feeling of being so alone she only felt alive by doing dangerous things, one of the many things was cliff diving that Jacob had showed her. She went to try this to see if the feeling of Edward was still with her.
At the time that she jumped off the cliff, Jacob was close enough to see her, but Alice and her visions could not see that if she had died by suicide or not and told Edward she was dead.
Edward no longer caring knew that the only way he could really be killed was to visit the oldest Coven, The Volturi in Italy. Alice seeing into the future once more realized that she was not dead and she went to Bella to get her to come, because that would be the only way Edward would believe her, was to see her.
And only hope they made it before it was too late.
