The third book of the continuing saga of Twilight was rated “Bestselling Books of Last 15 years” in October 2008. A film adaptation of Eclipse is tentatively scheduled for release on June 30, 2010.
The story begins with the fact that Seattle is being plagued by a many unsolved murders, Edward believes that it is caused by young vampires that us unable to control its thirst for human blood.
Bella and Edward apply to colleges, but Bella tells Edward she wants to see her werewolf friend Jacob Black again.
Bella insists to Edward that Jack was not a threat to her and she begins to see him on occasion. Meanwhile Alice, Edwards’s sister has a vision that Victoria is hunting for Bella for the revenge of killing her mate James.
Alice’s vision shows her that Victoria is now in Forks. Finally Edward proposes to Bella and even if she has an aversion to marriage she accepts.
The Cullen’s and Bella now realize that the murders in Seattle are caused by an “army” of new vampires and that they are being controlled by Victoria.
The werewolves and the Cullen’s decided to join forces to prepare for the coming battle.
Edward, Jacob and Bella camp in the mountains hiding from the battle. But one of the younger of the werewolf pack (Seth Clearwater) came to wait it out with them.
When Jacob overhears Bella and Edward discussing their engagement, he threatens to join the fight and get himself killed. Bella kisses Jacob and realized that she loved him also.
During the fight Victoria tracks Edward’s scent to find Bella where they had hid in the woods and Edward is forced to fight. After Edward finally destroys Victoria, Bella explains to Jacob that even if she loves Edward she also loves him, but the love for Edward is greater.
When Jacob receives his wedding information he turned into his wolf form to escape his pain and leaves. Jacob does not want Bella to become a vampire and is very angry with her.
