Breaking Dawn

Breaking Dawn is the fourth and final novel in the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer Divided into three parts, the first and third part is written from Bella’s perspective and the second is written from the perspective of Jacob.

Breaking Dawn was released on August 2, 2008.

Breaking Dawn is divided into three parts. In the first part it gives details of the marriage and the honeymoon with Edward. They spend this time on a private island off the coast of Brazil.

It wasn’t long and Bella realizes that she is pregnant and that her condition is advancing to rapidly. After getting in touch with Carlisle, that informs her that she is indeed pregnant she and Edward returns home to Washington.

Edward is very worried about her condition and he is convinced that the baby she carries is a monster because of the fast pace of its growth.

Edward begs Bella to abort the baby, but Bella has a strong pull towards the child and refuses.

The second part of the novel as seen from Jacob’s point of view lasts throughout Bella’s pregnancy and childbirth.

Jacob’s Quileute pack not knowing the dangers the child could be make plans to destroy it. Even if it meant destroying Bella in the process.

Jacob fights with this plan and leaves the Quileute pack to form his own pack with Leah and Seth Clearwater. Bella soon gives birth but the baby breaks many of her bones and she loses a large amount of blood. Edward changes her into a vampire to save her life.

Jacob being there for the birth immediately “imprints” on Bella and Edward’s newborn daughter named Renesmee. They named her after Bella’s mother and Edward’s.

The third section of Breaking Dawn is changed back to Bella’s perspective. She enjoys her new life and her abilities. The vampire Irina misidentifies Renesmee as an immortal child. Because immortal children are uncontrollable, creating them is outlawed by the Volturi.

After Irina tells the Volturi they plan to destroy Renesmee and the Cullen’s, In an attempt to save her they recruited other vampire clans from around the world to stand witnesses and prove to the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child.

When the Volturi arrives they are faced with many witnesses and they proved that Renesmee is not immortal and the Volturi is then convinced. Irina was executed for her mistake.

The Volturi’s must decide if Renesmee would be a threat to vampire’s secret existence. And just in time, Alice and Jasper returned with Nahuel, a 150 year old vampire-human crossbreed just like Renesmee herself.

He proves this to the Volturi and they leave Edward, Bella and Renesmee to return home in peace.
